Student of the Month: Olivia Zalecki

Meet Olivia Zalecki, a junior double majoring in Chinese and International Politics and our student of the month. She is a Caldwell Fellow, founder and president of Adopted Students Union at NC State, and has studied abroad in China and England. She aspires to work in government in the area of international relations.

Professor Talks about US Media Ecosystem in the Trump Era during the IV Ryszard Kapuscinski International Seminar in Spain

Recently, the city of Elche, Spain, hosted the IV International Seminar Ryszard Kapuscinski, part of the XIII International Conference of Journalism at the University Miguel Hernández. During the event, NC State professor Jordi Marí talked about the US media ecosystem since the coming to power of the current administration of President Trump last January.

Professor Brings The Mexican Crack Writers to Life in New Book

One of the Department of Foreign Languages and Literatures own has recently become a third-time published author. Héctor Jaimes, a professor of Latin American Literature and Culture and the Spanish Language, has been a member of the Department of Foreign Languages and Literatures at North Carolina State University for the past twenty years. Jaimes recently published the anthology, The Mexican Crack Writers: History and Criticism, which stands alone as the first scholarly book about a literary group that defined a whole generation of Latin American writers.
