What Do You Think about Earning Your Master’s Degree While Still Working on Your Bachelor’s?

The Department of Foreign Languages and Literatures’ Accelerated Bachelor’s / Master’s (ABM) Degree Program in French or Spanish is a wonderful opportunity for students seeking a higher degree in one of these two languages. The program allows students to earn their BA and MA in five years, saving both time and money by facilitating completion of advanced coursework while still enrolled as undergraduates.

There are very few requirements in order to participate in the dual-degree program. Students must have a minimum cumulative GPA of a 3.5 and must meet with the Director of Graduate Programs in their second semester of the third year to make preparations to enter the ABM program. During the final two semesters of the BA degree path, students will take two graduate level courses, which will count for double credit towards both the BA and MA degrees. Students must complete the remaining MA coursework within one year of completing the BA.

So, are you ready to start your Master’s? For more information, please contact Dr. Scott Despain, Director of Graduate Programs or visit the ABM program.
