Maymester: A 3-Week Micro-Semester That Combines an Intensive Schedule with a Small Class Size
Last spring, CHASS introduced Maymester, an intensive three-week micro-semester in which students and professors can concentrate on a single course.
Back in 2013, the Department of Foreign Languages and Literatures offered FLS 333 — a special Maymester version of ‘Sounds of Spanish’, a course that is designed to help students improve their pronunciation of Spanish sounds by using digital tools.
For the 2014 calendar year, Maymester returns and this time FLL is offering two courses, FLS 333 — back by popular demand — and FLS 412, a survey of Latin American and Caribbean cultures based on their literary, musical, artistic, and film productions.
Maymester 2014 will run from May 12 – May 30.
See a post describing how Maymester works. For more information about enrollment, please visit the NC State’s Enrollment Management and Services site.
