In the Spotlight: Jorge Marí – “the most rewarding part of being a teacher is the appreciation of my students”
Last November, FLL Professor Jorge Marí was interviewed by local TV station FOX 50 as part of its series Hispanic Leader of the Week. Professor Marí is a native of Barcelona, Spain, who came to the US in 1989 and currently teaches Spanish Film Studies and Hispanic Literature and Culture in the Department of Foreign Languages and Literatures at NCSU.
In his interview, Professor Mari remarks that the most rewarding part of being a teacher is the appreciation of his students, who often approach him to express their gratitude for what they learned from him, often years after taking his class.
Also, he advises us that the most important thing is to understand who we are, what we are good at and where we want to go and to go for it with diligence and determination.
