Remembering Dr. Tom Feeny
The Department of World Languages and Cultures recently lost a beloved professor, colleague and friend, Dr. Tom Feeny, who passed away at the age of 87.
Tom was a long time faculty member in WLC, having taught at NC State for 53 years. A professor of Spanish, Tom also taught Italian and French since joining the faculty in 1970. Besides his scholarly research on Spanish literature, Tom was also a published poet and translator. He served in numerous leadership roles in the department and across the university, and directly impacted thousands of students through his teaching and mentorship.
Most of all, Tom was known as a kind and generous colleague, and he will be missed.
