Celebrating WLC Graduate Student Excellence at the Triangle French History and Culture Seminar

Withers Hall, home to the Department of World Languages & Cultures

French MA students Miriam Fatnassi Nisetich, Alice Mazur, and Nell Pietri recently attended the Triangle French History and Culture Seminar, which proved to be an enriching experience. Co-convened by NC State professor Michael Garval and UNC professor Ellen Welch, the seminar offered students the opportunity to interact with distinguished professors from across the region.

Our graduate students’ participation was not only noteworthy but also garnered significant praise, as faculty from across the region commended WLC students for their insightful engagement in the conference sessions. Valerie Lambert, Director of Graduate Programs and Associate Professor of French Applied Linguistics in WLC, noted that “the exceptional training and mentoring our graduate students receive is apparent in their ability to apply their knowledge in innovative ways, as is evidenced in their teaching, coursework and original research”.

The Department of World Languages & Cultures offers MA concentrations in French, Spanish and TESOL, with options for dual concentrations.
