About Us
Our major, minor, and certificate programs share a common goal of expanding worldviews, language skills, cultural competence and empathy.
In World Languages and Cultures, your education isn’t confined to a classroom. It spans every corner of the globe. We offer courses in Arabic, Chinese, FL English, French, German, Greek, Hindi-Urdu, Korean, Latin, Italian, Japanese, Portuguese, Russian and Spanish. We also provide specialized offerings ranging from business Spanish to world literature to Hindi.
We’re home to six major concentrations, 14 minors, six certificate programs, and an M.A. in Foreign Languages and Literatures with tracks in French, Spanish and Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages (TESOL).

Our 15 credit hour minors allow for deep language immersion and cultural understanding. It’s possible to earn up to 6 credit hours toward the minor studying abroad with our faculty or in other study abroad programs.
