Remembering Dr. Dudley Marchi

World Languages & Cultures recently lost a beloved professor, colleague and friend, Dr. Dudley Marchi, Professor of French, who passed away on September 2 after a battle with Multiple Myeloma.

During his remarkable 35-year career, Dudley left an indelible mark on our department, college and university. In addition to his award-winning teaching and research, he took on numerous leadership roles, including Study Abroad Director in France, Assistant Department Head, Interim Department Head, and Associate Department Head, a position he held for more than 20 years. Dudley’s mentorship and teaching will continue to have an impact on his students and colleagues well into the future.

The Dr. Dudley M. Marchi Memorial Study Abroad Fund has been started in his honor. Donations will go directly to help students study abroad to enhance their language skills and experience the world.
