NC State and the College of Humanities and Social Sciences offer a variety of scholarships for students at all levels. Incoming freshmen can apply for the Dean’s Scholar Award and J. Carlie Adams Scholarship. NC State also offers the highly prestigious Park Scholarship and Caldwell Fellowship.

Arlene Malinowski Award
In memoriam of the late Arlene Malinowki, honors a student in our FL Education program who demonstrates outstanding academic achievements and leadership qualities, as well as a love of languages and cultures and a high level of involvement in academic and extra-curricular pursuits.
Study Abroad Scholarships
Our department has its own scholarships and awards to ensure deserving students get a chance to explore the world.
Diane Fagin Adler Francophile Scholarship
Established in honor of Diane Fagin Adler, this is a $1,000 scholarship that supports one French student for a study abroad experience in France. In years of sufficient funding, the French section nominates an outstanding French major or minor who has demonstrated an outstanding dedication to the French language and culture. Interested students are asked to request consideration by March 1.
L.I. Felner Award (for Study Abroad)
Two $1,000 scholarships are available to students to encourage them to study in a country that speaks their chosen language. Applicants must be foreign language majors with at least a 3.0 grade point average and will be evaluated on their application essay.
Please note this scholarship is only available during the spring scholarship application process.
